Our specialism
Warm Air Heating Specialists
One of the UK's few Gas Safe warm air specialists — Johnson & Starley servicing, repairs, WarmCair replacements and Aquair upgrades across six counties.
The engineers other heating firms send you to
If you own a warm air heating system, you already know the problem: most heating engineers won't touch it. Warm air needs its own Gas Safe qualification (Domestic Warm Air) that the vast majority never take — so owners of Johnson & Starley systems get told "we don't do those", or worse, get quoted for ripping the whole system out.
Plumbusters is one of very few firms in the South East — and the UK — that services, repairs and replaces warm air systems every week. We're proud to be recommended by Johnson & Starley, the UK's only remaining warm air manufacturer, and we've worked on their units for over 30 years: Economaire, Modairflow, WarmCair, Aquair — the lot.
- Gas Safe registered for Domestic Warm Air — the qualification that matters
- Recommended by Johnson & Starley
- Servicing, repairs, replacements and Aquair hybrid upgrades
- Covering Kent, London, Essex, Surrey, East Sussex & Berkshire
- 24/7 emergency response for no-heat breakdowns

What we do
Everything a warm air system needs
From an annual service to a full modern replacement — one specialist firm, no guesswork.
Servicing
Annual Gas Safe servicing for Johnson & Starley and other warm air units — keeps warranties valid, efficiency up and carbon monoxide risk checked.
Repairs
Breakdowns, pressure loss, blowing cold, LED fault codes on Economaire units, WarmCair resets — faults we diagnose every week, 24/7 for emergencies.
Replacement & upgrades
Like-for-like modern WarmCair replacements (up to 98% efficient), or Aquair hybrid upgrades that keep your ducting and add a modern heat source — including heat pumps.
Worth knowing
Why keep warm air instead of switching to radiators?
Warm air heats a house fast — minutes, not the hour a wet system can take — with no radiators stealing wall space. Modern condensing units reach up to 98% thermal efficiency and cut fuel use by over 28% against older non-condensing models, and the Aquair Heat Interface Unit lets your existing ducting run from a combi boiler, an electric boiler or a heat pump — a genuinely future-proof path that most engineers simply don't know exists.
A conversion to radiators means new pipework through the whole house, redundant ducting to make good, and losing the fast warm-up — usually at a higher price than a like-for-like replacement. Talk to a specialist before anyone talks you into ripping it out.

What our clients think
Our Testimonials
We love our clients and they love our work. Our team is very experienced in both residential and commercial projects.
I have used Plumbusters for years for servicing my boiler and some great small jobs. This time it was a new boiler moved up two flights of stairs. All work was neat and tidy, with some fantastic pipe work, like a work of art. Considering the effort to take up carpet and floorboards, there are no corners cut and the best job done, not the quickest job just to move on to the next customer. Even the outside plastering of the old outlet pipe was made to look like bricks! At the end there was a full walk through to make sure everything was working and 2 follow up checks. Great job.

Having only just moved into a new home, we were reliant upon recommendation by the previous owners. Plumbusters have been remarkably responsive and did an amazing job that turned out to be far more than first anticipated. We now have a swanky streamline vertical radiator in our family room along with two extra radiators on two upstairs bedrooms. Faultlessly clean, Grant gets our vote today. Thanks to you all. Now have you down as our preferred company for all things plumbing related. Best wishes. Mike & Joanne
