Unvented cylinders on Kings Hill
Kings Hill was built from the late 1980s onwards on the old RAF West Malling airfield, and a lot of its larger houses have an unvented cylinder, often a Megaflo or similar, heated by a system boiler. The cylinder gives mains-pressure hot water to every tap and shower in the house.
An unvented cylinder needs its safety valves and expansion vessel checked every year, and any work on it has to be done by an engineer with the G3 qualification. Our engineers hold it, and we can check the cylinder in the same visit as the boiler service.
